this was my time for my very first run ever.
Maijooks 2010. A run only for women. 7k distance.
And I did it in less than 45 minutes (that was my goal).
I wonder what would have been my time, if I would have trained before:)
I registered for this run already a month ago, as it was a deal with a purchase and I planned to train at least 3 times a week. But then the weather was bad and then I moved to Tallinn and ...
Anyway - I did it anyway!! And I felt and still feel grrreat!
:)
Some stats too.
My speed was 9,53 km/h or 159 m/min or 2,65 m/s.
In the other way it took me 0,38 s/m.
Also, my 100 m time was 37,77 s and if I would have ran 10 k then my time would have been 62 min and 57 s.
Wooot!

half-way
Fourth day found me behind "Vabakas" (the Freedom square), enjoying some beer and sun. The evening ended with watching of the "Ironman II". The beer was great, the movie - clearly I was not their target audience.
Second week brough three more movies.
*Aeg on siin/Time is here: Documentary about 4 schoolkids in different spots in Estonia starting school. 4 stories about the first grade memories. Very adorable. I decided that if possible, I would like to bring up my children in a non-Tallinn environment.
*Last song (with Miley Cyrus) - romantic drama with no big surprises. Enjoyable though.
* The age of Stupid - It was showing for free due to the World Day events. It is about climate change and I like the storylines and the technical aspects of the movie. But it was totally built on emotions. I would have liked more actual facts and science. But of course this movie was not designed to be neutral.
The remaining two evenings were filled with discussions over intuition and creativity and life (and men) and cider. And yesterday I moved to my new home!!
Workwise I was trained to be a public servant. It is a 3-day course, that covers government, law-making systems, local governments, NGOs, public administration, European Union etc. Quite useful for a person like me. But the laws and rights regarding the local governments remained quite confusing. And apparently that was supposed to feel this way, as it IS confusing.
And I was the youngest there. Youngest by service.

cowslips become dandelions...
...when they grow up. This is what Rasmus taught us. Rasmus is 4 years old. Well, almost 5. He says other smart things, too. Such as: people should only carry 2 rocks at the time, since they only have two hands. This is why he threw my third pretty rock into the sea. Because I did not have the third hand to carry it anyway. Logish! Smart dude:)
Last Saturday we (my mother, Reelika, Kristen, Rasmus) went to Lillemaa (my grandfathers place near Pärnu). The entire weekend was just a bliss.
Making a fire under the stove.
Making and drinking fresh blackcurrant-branch-tea.
Expedition in the oceans around the house.
Cowslips!!! (Nurmenukk). I have missed these flowers for 7 years!!!
Going fishing (Kristen got more than 7 fish - the biggest fish he has ever caught).
Visiting neighbours and saying hi to a 2 week old baby-horse.
BBQ and beer.
Slow breakfast with porridge and tea.
Making a mothers day cake and enjoying it.
Expedition and liverleaf (sinilill) picking.
Visiting grandmother.
All these things define happiness.
All these things make up just a perfect weekend!!!

third day is for folk
First approval from the boss: Well done with the text-editing for the Yearbook. I can tell that you have been writing before.
Yay!
:)
The rest of the day I was reading up on public sector and making new friends:)
When the evening came - it was time for some folk dancing! SOooooo much fun! Live music and older kinds of folk dances from Estonia and abroad. I actually did not know the dances, except one. But they were easy to learn and SO much fun:)
Interestingly, in contrast with the previous night, there were no technically polished moves. Some knew better, some not so well, but it was no issue. Just fun!
Somehow we got home late again (midnightish).
I need to admit I like this activeness of Tallinn:)

good morning, Guest
alias second day at work.
It is snowing...
When I walk in there is a voice that announces "good morning, guest!". One day they will know my name.
I already know my way to my office. I still lost the kitchen, but no big loss.
Lunch - I am not sure whether to go out with such bad weather, but I will and it is good, as I get to talk to someone:)
On my way home I meet a first nice cab-driver (the majority of people in Tallinn are very serious and rather angry-looking).
Shopping!
LL prepared an amazing Thai-flavoured dinner. Delicious! Plus some wine:)
My suitcase arrives.
LL and I are re-planting flowers. It feels very zen.
And then - to the salsa night!!! I was a little rusty, but the music was great! We planned to go for "a little bit", but somehow we got home at 1 am. Great, great times!
Very superb day!
PS! Salsa dancers here are class of their own. I have never seen such "technical" dancing. The moves are complicated and crazy and people know what they are doing. It is a little scary, as I felt clearly incompetent. In canadian salsa clubs people just dance and have fun. Just a few people do all these highly structured combos. However - the show was very enjoyable!

first REAL job - first day
Monday, May 3, 2010 was my very first day at a REAL job! Such exciting times:)
Of course, not all went smoothly.
First I did not fit on a bus on Sunday night, so I had to brainstorm for alternative ways for Monday morning. I had to be at work at 8 pm and not in Tallinn, but in Saku (which is about 10 km from Tallinn). Reelika-Kristen helped and the plan was set. I needed to leave Pärnu at 5.10 am.
But I made it in time. Even 10 min early. The first day is important.
The highlights of the day:
* I have my own office - with a big window facing South! (superluks!)
* First job was to register for a conference in York
* Lots of very positive and beautiful (and handsome:)) people
* Lunch with new friends at the Saku mansion
* Catchin up with Jansa after work (while waiting for my suitcase to follow from Pärnu and LL to finish dance practice)
* Wine and cake and tea with LL
Life is good:)

Äkitselt kõlas mehehääl: Tütarlaps, me oleme Bussipargis!
***
Volber. Long way to Tartu from Pärnu via Tallinn. Long night and even longer day. 7 pm Tädi Tudu took the bus to Pärnu. She had a nap, looked at some bus-stops passing by. Another nap. All of the sudden a deep male voice wakes her up: Lady, we are at the autopark. Is this where you wanted to go?
It is very quiet and very dark and Tädi Tudu is SO confused.
But she jumps up, the feet hurt (from high heels) and she leaves quickly. Thankfully it is the correct city. She could have ended up in Saaremaa (an island 6 h away). How embarrasing. Poor busdriver was very surprised and confused as well.
So this is what Volber may do.
